Alexander Rinnooy Kan

Alexander Rinnooy Kan is professor in Economics and Business Management at the University of Amsterdam. In September 2013, he took on the position of co-chair of the Worldconnectors. He is also chairman of the Supervisory Board at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and member of Advisory Board at True Price.

Professional background
Rinnooy Kan was chairman of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER) between 2006 and 2012. He has previously fulfilled the positions of chairman at VNO-NCW, Rector Magnificus at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and member of the Board of Directors at ING Group. He holds degrees in Maths from Leiden University and Econometrics from University of Amsterdam (UvA), and received his PhD in Maths at the UvA in 1976.
